There, it’s already so far my Milky Way Protein Bar Test + Experience Report is finally here. I mentioned it in my last article and here is the confirmation. My Protein Bar Test Series has begun!
Today it is the relatively new protein rich variant of the well-known Milky Way bar. Der Milky Way Protein Bar by MARS. But enough of the big words let’s start with the actual test and see what the Milky Way Protein bar is so good for!
The nutritional values of the Milky Way Protein Bar
It’s best to start with the nutritional values. After all, they are the real reason to buy the protein-rich snack alternative. Just not resorting to sweet temptations of the normal Milky Way. If you look at the specified nutritional values, you will also notice significant differences from the conventional Milky Way chocolate bar. For example, the Milky Way Protein bar has just under 19g of protein compared to the 0.9g that a normal Milky Way has. However, the Milky Way Protein bar also has more calories than a normal MilkyWay.
But enough comparison to a normal Milky Way bar. After all, here we do a protein bar test and not a bar test. So I would say the Milky Way protein bar is in the average midfield of the protein bars. This is mainly due to the relatively high sugar content and the rather weak protein content.
The ingredients of the Milky Way Protein Bar :
But what about the ingredients of the Milky Way protein bar? And above all, what is used here for the protein content of the bar as a source. So take a look at the back of the beautifully packaged bar, just like the Rockalicious Protein Bar from Rocka, you will find a protein mixture as the main component of thebar. This consists mostly of a milk protein and whey protein concentrate mixture. This, in turn, clearly speaks for the bar, as attention has clearly been paid to a high-quality protein source.
Ingredients of the Milky Way Protein Bar
Protein mixture (milk protein, whey protein concentrate (milk), emulsifier (soy lecithin),), milk chocolate (19) (sugar, cocoa butter, skimmed milk powder, cocoa mass, lactose and protein from whey (milk), palm oil, whey powder (milk), milk fat, emulsifiers ( soy lecithin, E476), natural vanilla extract), hydrolyzed collagen, humectops (glycerin), glucose syrup, fructooligosaccharide, egg albumin, whole milk powder, flavourings, sunflower oil, barley malt extract, salt, antioxidants (natural mixed tocopherols).
Taste of the protein bar: How does the Milky Way Protein Bar ?
In terms of taste, I have to say that the Milky Way Protein bar can’t really live up to expectations. Because in my opinion this tastes like a normal cheap protein bar which I can also buy in any supermarket for 1 €. Unfortunately, the supposed Milky Way taste is also absent. Perhaps a little like Milky Way’s protein bar is a real Milky Way bar.
Special features of the Milky Way Protein Bars by MARS
That’s how we come to the topic of special features. Especially with the Milky Way Protein bar, in my opinion, it’s a protein bar from MARS and is supposed to be a healthier version of the Milky Way. But due to the rather unconvincing consistency and the rather disappointing taste, I have to say clearly here that the protein bar can not reach the normal Milky Way the water.
Price of milky Way protein bar
In terms of price, however, the Milky Way Protein bars are relatively expensive, similar to the Rockalicious Protein bars. Because for a bar you get for just under €3, which is quite expensive. However, you can of course also get a 10 package and save a little, so that you pay just under 2.30 € each bar. Overall, however, it has to say that this price is nevertheless rather unjustified. Since the taste as well as the consistency could not convince very much. So I have no choice but to give the Milky Way Protein bar a 5 out of 10. If you still want to try the healthy version of the Milky Way chocolate bar, I can only advise you not to have too high expectations. You can order the bars relatively cheaply, especially from Amazon*!
